My art represents the aesthetics of a lifestyle that is rich and full of contrasts.  I have lived in coastal communities and fished commercially in Alaska  for over 40 years.  My work references time on the water, days in remote areas, and travel outside that framework.  Inspiration comes from nature and patterns of multiples.  My roots as a potter are reflected in all of  my work, in the materials and processes I use, and the variety of clay bodies and firing techniques.  I use other materials-metal, fish skin, flowers, aged wooden tools-to extend the possibilities of clay, or tell a distinct, unique story.  The direct touch of my hands to material is always evident.

My education in art has come from mentors, travel, workshops, residencies and University studies.

I have had numerous solo exhibits in Alaska and multiple group and solo exhibits across the country.  My work is in the art collection of the Anchorage Museum, Alaska State Museum, Pratt Museum, the Fuller Craft Museum, and many private collections.
